Paul Bogart | Cowboy Ride | A Video Tribute to Legendary Cowboys

I am particularly touched by this seeing as how I actually knew some of those guys. And, although I couldn’t hold a light, even competed against some of them, Freckles Brown for example. I was honored just to be allowed to step into the same arena with him.

I hope you enjoy this. If you don’t, you might as well turn in your spurs because you have no right to call yourself a “cowboy.” — jtl

“Cowboy Ride” is one of my favorite songs that I have ever recorded and this video is so special to me because it pays tribute to some of my mentors and heroes as well as cowboy legends who have inspired so many of us. ~ Paul

Paul is an Oologah, Oklahoma-born singer/rider/roper now living in Nashville. If you were to look up the phrase “three chords and the truth” in the dictionary, you might see pictures of country legends like Merle Haggard, Hank Williams and Johnny Cash… but more recently, you might also see Paul. Though his songs are fresh and he himself is young, he is an old soul with a knack for capturing time-honored traditions and summing up classic sentiments in catchy, three-minute songs. LYRICS:

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOUR CHOICES ARE GONE
AND YOU’VE RUN OUT OF WORDS TO YOUR WORN OUT OLD SONG
AND THE RAIN’S COMING DOWN WITH A FREEZE COMING ON
IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE THAT YOU CALL YOUR HOME

COWBOY RIDE
COWBOY RIDE

THE NOTE’S IN YOUR POCKET SHE WROTE LONG AGO
WHERE SHE TOLD YOU SHE LOVED YOU AND THEN TOLD YOU NO
AND WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THE SCARS THAT DON’T SHOW
ARE ONE STEP BEHIND YOU WHEREVER YOU GO

COWBOY RIDE
COWBOY RIDE

RIDE TILL THE DAYLIGHT IS THROUGH
‘CUASE SOMETIMES THAT’S ALL YOU CAN DO
WHEN RESTLESS AND LONESOME JUST CAN’T BE DENIED

COWBOY RIDE
COWBOY RIDE

THERE’S A TRAIL TO THE VALLEY THAT YOU’VE NEVER SEEN
WHERE THE RIVERS RUN CLEAR AND THE GRASS IS SO GREEN
AND THE FENCES ARE GOLD AND THE PONIES HAVE WINGS
AND YOU’LL SING THE SONG THAT YOU’VE HEARD IN YOUR DREAMS

COWBOY RIDE
COWBOY RIDE
COWBOY RIDE

COWBOY RIDE
COWBOY RIDE
COWBOY RIDE

A Handbook for Ranch ManagersA Handbook for Ranch Managers.  In keeping with the “holistic” idea that the land, the livestock, the people and the money should be viewed as a single integrated whole: Part I deals with the management of the natural resources. Part II covers livestock production and Part III deals with the people and the money. Not only would this book make an excellent basic text for a university program in Ranch Management, no professional ranch manager’s reference bookshelf should be without it. It is a comprehensive reference manual for managing the working ranch. The information in the appendices and extensive bibliography alone is worth the price of the book.

About Land & Livestock Interntional, Inc.

Land and Livestock International, Inc. is a leading agribusiness management firm providing a complete line of services to the range livestock industry. We believe that private property is the foundation of America. Private property and free markets go hand in hand—without property there is no freedom. We also believe that free markets, not government intervention, hold the key to natural resource conservation and environmental preservation. No government bureaucrat can (or will) understand and treat the land with as much respect as its owner. The bureaucrat simply does not have the same motives as does the owner of a capital interest in the property. Our specialty is the working livestock ranch simply because there are so many very good reasons for owning such a property. We provide educational, management and consulting services with a focus on ecologically and financially sustainable land management that will enhance natural processes (water and mineral cycles, energy flow and community dynamics) while enhancing profits and steadily building wealth.
