With the single exception of the War of Yankee Aggression and then only from the side of the South, the uSSA has not fought a constitutional war since 1812.
Since then, every soldier, sailor, airman or Marine has been a dupe. My word for it is “Betrayed.” I even wrote a book by that name about it. Here is a small sample paraphrased from the book:
I went to PLC and qualified with the M14 rifle. I went to boot camp and qualified with the M14 rifle. I went to ITR (now known as the School of Infantry) and qualified with the M14 rifle. I went to Staging Btn. and qualified with the M14 rifle. I went to Vietnam and they gave me an M16 rifle and sent me to the bush without ever having the opportunity to so much as site the damned thing in.

Tweet after tweet after tweet, people used the opportunity that the Army had inadvertently given them to describe how they or their loved one had been chewed up and spit out by a war machine that never cared about them.
